Merrick & Company seeks a full-time Senior Electrical Engineer for its Energy, Manufacturing & Bioprocessing department to join our team in Greenwood Village, CO; Richmond, VA; Ellicott City, MD; Chattanooga, TN; or Tulsa, OK. The role offers a hybrid work schedule; relocation will be considered.

You will lead electrical design efforts, develop drawings, coordinate with clients and project teams, and ensure standards compliance while mentoring staff. Travel to sites is expected.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of electrical engineering experience in power/industrial sectors such as energy, oil & gas.
• Experience developing one-line drawings, control schematics and wiring diagrams, electrical equipment specifications, power plans, conduit plans, and cable schedules.
• Working knowledge of technical codes and standards: NEC, IEEE, NFPA, IEC, etc.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel & Word.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, REVIT or other design software.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited college is required.
• PE License required.
• US citizenship required for client projects.

Responsibilities

• May serve as project lead on a major project and/or several projects of moderate scope with complex features.
• Develop electrical design documents and drawings.
• Analyze and approve the work of others. Monitor the work performed by the team.
• Conceptual and detailed design of low voltage power distribution, lighting, grounding, motor control systems, PLC/PAC, HMIs, process equipment and instrumentation.
• Interact with clients, customers, officials, contractors and others.
• Lead project meetings and make presentations.
• Perform typical electrical calculations including voltage drop, short circuit, coordination studies, arc flash, relay settings, conduit fill, lighting, and grounding.
• Develop specifications and datasheets for electrical equipment including transformers, switchgear, MCCs.
• Travel to client project sites to support field walk downs and as-built efforts.
• Monitor allocated resources to ensure that the work performed is within project estimates.
• Works with Design/Engineering Managers to ensure that project schedule will be met, and complete documents are provided for each project.
