Job summary

This senior-level individual contributor role involves guiding field personnel and mentoring junior engineers, with no direct reports.

The role covers 5 kV to 66 kV systems, including substations, protection, modeling, and project installations across the U.S. and cross-border collaboration with a Canadian team.

Qualifications

• Strong background in electrical power systems engineering.
• Experience with medium-voltage electrical systems and substations.
• Experience with power system modeling and analysis.
• Knowledge and experience with protective relaying and electrical power protection.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to provide technical guidance to field personnel and other engineering professionals.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24/7/365 technical support for electrical issues affecting liquid pipeline operations.
• Support the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability of electrical systems associated with pipeline assets.
• Provide technical oversight and guidance for electrical project installations.
• Develop, review, and support electrical specifications, engineering standards, and technical requirements.
• Support medium-voltage power systems and company-owned substations.
• Provide technical expertise in power system modeling, protective relaying, power protection, substation design, and electrical power system design.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical issues and develop practical technical solutions for field and operational stakeholders.
• Provide technical oversight and guidance to field technicians and electrical specialists.
• Serve as a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for electrical power systems.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers and support their technical development.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, maintenance, project, and field teams to resolve electrical challenges.
• Work effectively through ambiguous or complex technical problems and determine appropriate engineering solutions.
