Job summary

Tetra Tech, Inc. seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer, PE for our Ann Arbor, MI office.

You’ll lead design efforts for electrical systems in municipal and industrial water/wastewater facilities, with emphasis on reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams from concept through construction, developing schematics, specifications, and detailed designs, while managing schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
10+ years in a consulting engineering environment.
Professional Engineer license in state of practice or able to obtain via comity within 12 months.
Experience with utility coordination and permitting processes.
Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
Strong understanding of NEC and related electrical design regulations.

Responsibilities

Perform electrical systems planning, design, and calculations for complex infrastructure projects.
Develop detailed electrical and control schematics.
Design medium- and low-voltage power systems, lighting, grounding, and related low-voltage systems.
Prepare project specifications using CSI MasterFormat and UFGS standards.
Incorporate design updates using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
Support project schedules and budgets, ensuring technical quality and accuracy.
Prepare status reports, basis-of-design documents, project manuals, and client responses.
Estimate level of effort and construction costs at various phases.
Review submittals and respond to RFIs.
