Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer, PE to join our Irvine, CA office. You’ll design electrical systems for critical infrastructure and work on water and wastewater facilities. A PE license or ability to obtain via comity within 12 months is required.

Responsibilities include planning, design, schematics, specifications, and construction support. Strong writing, communication, and NEC knowledge are essential for success.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years in a consulting engineering environment.
• PE license in state of practice or ability to comity within 12 months.
• Experience with utility coordination and permitting processes.
• Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
• Strong NEC knowledge and related design regulations.
• Proficient with power systems analysis software.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical systems planning, design, and calculations for complex infrastructure projects.
• Develop detailed electrical and control schematics.
• Design LV/MV power systems, lighting, grounding, and related low-voltage systems.
• Prepare project specifications using CSI MasterFormat and UFGS.
• Support schedules, budgets, and quality control.
• Review submittals and RFIs; assist in reports and basis-of-design documents.
