Job summary

MAAS is seeking a licensed electrical engineer to support the Sustainability Strike Team across nine California college campuses. You will assess existing infrastructure, run load and capacity studies, write scopes of work, review designs and submittals, and assist commissioning.

The ideal candidate has a CA PE, a Bachelor's in EE, 7+ years in design or facilities, and strong knowledge of Title 24, NEC, and CALGreen. This is an owner-affiliate role with ESOP benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Current California PE license in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 7 or more years of professional electrical engineering experience in design, construction, or facilities infrastructure is required.
• Strong working knowledge of California energy codes, Title 24, NEC, and CALGreen is required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as electrical engineering expert for project managers and the Sustainability Strike Team.
• Assess existing electrical infrastructure for condition, capacity, and upgrade opportunities; write condition reports.
• Perform load studies, capacity evaluations, and feasibility studies to shape project scope.
• Check proposed upgrades fit with building systems and coordinate with other disciplines and utilities.
• Write electrical scopes of work and review consultant scopes against standards and site conditions.
• Provide input to procurement documents and participate on design/contractor panels.
• Review studies, designs, specs, submittals, RFIs, and change orders; make technical recommendations.
• Apply electrical codes (Title 24, NEC, CALGreen) and district standards to reviews.
• Support field visits, commissioning, and closeout; assist with integration and systems compatibility.
