Job summary

MAAS Companies seeks a licensed electrical engineer to support the Sustainability Strike Team across districtwide energy and sustainability initiatives for California community colleges. You will assess infrastructure, perform load and capacity studies, and validate feasibility for projects such as solar, storage, microgrids, and building electrification.

Based at the District Office, you will write scopes of work, review designs, and back up field teams through commissioning and closeout.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• California PE license in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 7+ years of professional electrical engineering experience in design, construction, or facilities infrastructure is required.
• Strong working knowledge of California energy codes, Title 24, NEC, and CALGreen is required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the electrical engineering expert for project managers and the Sustainability Strike Team across districtwide initiatives.
• Assess existing electrical infrastructure and equipment for condition, performance, capacity, and upgrade opportunities; write existing conditions reports.
• Perform and review load studies, capacity evaluations, feasibility studies, and other analyses that shape project scope.
• Check that proposed upgrades fit the existing systems and coordinate with other engineering disciplines and utilities.
• Write and review electrical scopes of work and ensure alignment with District standards.
• Validate assumptions and feasibility findings in White Papers per standard procedures.
• Provide electrical input to procurement documents and evaluation criteria; participate on design/contractor panels.
• Review studies, designs, specs, submittals, RFIs, and change orders; make technical recommendations.
