Job summary

Team UIS in Dexter, Michigan is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to play a vital role in conducting arc flash studies and mentoring staff. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a Michigan PE license or a willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities include coordinating with electrical engineers, conducting engineering studies, and managing client expectations. Benefits include medical coverage and 401k contributions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required.
  • Must have Michigan Professional Engineer (PE) license or willingness to obtain.
  • Expert understanding of IEEE and NEC regulations.
  • Strong ability in short circuit and arc flash analysis studies.
  • Proficiency with SKM PowerTools and AutoCAD required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordination with Lead Electrical Engineer to develop staff engineers.
  • Production of engineering studies following UISE standards.
  • Review work completed by internal teams and contractors.
  • Format study results and provide recommendations.
  • Engagement in on-site meetings for project scope understanding.

Skills

Expert understanding of IEEE and NEC
Excellent communication skills
Advanced ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Proficiency with SKM PowerTools and AutoCAD
Strong work ethic

Education

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
Michigan Professional Engineer (PE) license
