Team UIS in Michigan is seeking an Electrical Engineer specialized in arc flash analysis to join our maintenance and acceptance testing team. You will model power systems, perform short-circuit analysis, protective device coordination, and provide actionable recommendations. You will read electrical drawings, coordinate with clients, estimate scope and cost, and manage information requests. Strong knowledge of SKM PowerTools, ETAP, EasyPower, AutoCAD and Microsoft products is essential.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology.
Familiar with electrical drawings (one-lines, riser diagrams, panel schedules).
2+ years of short circuit, protective device coordination or arc flash analysis studies.
Proficiency with SKM PowerTools, ETAP, EasyPower and AutoCAD.
Efficient with Microsoft products.
Excellent communication skills, organizational ability, positive attitude.
Demonstrate ability to multitask and manage multiple deadlines.
Must be authorized to work in the United States and fluent English speaker.
Responsibilities
Model power systems and conduct short circuit, protective device coordination, arc flash and shock hazard analyses.
Format results and provide recommendations to remedy power system deficiencies.
Engage in on-site meetings and walkthroughs to understand and quantify the scope of work.
Extract crucial information from electrical drawings and project specifications.
Estimate the time and associated costs to quote the scope of work.
Organize and communicate requests for information needed to perform the work.
Effectively manage clients’ expectations.
Perform other duties as needed to contribute to the overall success of Team UIS.
