Job summary

The BKV Group in Chicago, IL is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with a PE license and 10+ years of building systems design experience to lead the electrical discipline. You will oversee design and documentation for complex projects and mentor junior staff.

Based in Chicago or Dallas, you will collaborate with architecture and MEP teams across multi-family, commercial, and civic developments, driving quality and compliance through construction administration and BIM-based workflows.

Qualifications

• Active PE license.
• Minimum 10 years of electrical building systems design experience.
• Proficiency with Revit for electrical design and documentation.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, energy codes, IBC, and local codes.
• Ability to mentor staff and lead technical discussions.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design and documentation for multi-family, commercial, and civic projects.
• Mentor project engineers, designers, and junior staff.
• Coordinate with architecture, structural, mechanical/plumbing, interior design, and project management teams.
• Support construction administration through submittals, RFIs, and site conditions.
• Establish and maintain firm-wide electrical design standards and QA/QC processes.
