JE Dunn's Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into one high-performing team focused on cutting-edge work to serve innovative clients on large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. As part of the Advanced Facilities team, you'll work on some of the most advanced construction projects nationwide, growing your career alongside our diverse team of industry professionals.
Key Role Responsibilities - Core
- Learns and actively participates in all aspects of the company's safety and quality plans and culture by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others.
- Completes entry-level and routine mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities.
- Learns how to develop budgetary M/E estimates, based on program and schematic design information using automated M/E estimating systems.
- Assists in reviewing mechanical and electrical options during preconstruction and completes systems analysis for select projects.
- Learns to develop the mechanical and electrical scopes of work for the bid process.
- Assists in bid analysis and subcontractor selection.
- Assists in developing sequencing requirements and provides solutions to meet schedule needs.
- Gains knowledge of design documents to identify potential quality issues and develop constructability review reports.
- Learns to perform job inspections to ensure specifications and expectations are met.
- Assists with shop drawing/submittal processes to ensure compliance.
- Supports the commissioning process, including developing pre-functional checklists and testing procedures.
- Promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion, understanding JE Dunn's non-discrimination policy.
Additional Responsibilities
- Performs more complex mechanical, electrical, and construction activities.
- Develops budget estimates and reviews design options, recommending best solutions and value engineering.
- Coordinates scopes of work during bidding and develops sequencing and scheduling inputs.
- Reviews design documents for quality issues and helps develop quality control programs.
- Performs inspections and develops testing procedures, verifying contractor performance.
- Creates and reviews commissioning plans and documentation.
- Provides mentorship and develops innovative tools to improve processes.
- Continues to promote diversity and inclusion within JE Dunn.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to perform work accurately and timely.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Ability to read plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Proficiency in JE Dunn M/E tools and software.
- Knowledge of construction management methods.
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, architectural engineering, or related field (Required).
- 5+ years of construction or engineering experience preferred.
Working Environment
- Valid and unrestricted driver's license required.
