Key Role Responsibilities - Core

ME Engineer Family - Core

  • Learns and actively participates in all aspects of the company's safety and quality plans, demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment by personal actions and mentoring others.
  • Completes entry-level and routine mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities.
  • Learns to develop budgetary M/E estimates based on program and schematic design information using automated M/E estimating systems.
  • Assists in reviewing mechanical and electrical options during preconstruction, completing systems analysis for projects.
  • Learns to develop mechanical and electrical scopes of work for the bid process.
  • Assists in bid analysis and subcontractor selection.
  • Helps develop sequencing requirements and provides solutions to meet schedule needs.
  • Gains knowledge of design documents to identify potential quality issues and develop constructability review reports.
  • Learns to perform job inspections ensuring specifications and expectations are met in a timely manner.
  • Assists with shop drawing/submittal processes to ensure compliance with contract documents.
  • Supports the commissioning process, including developing checklists and testing procedures.
  • Promotes diversity and inclusion, understanding JE Dunn's non-discrimination policies.
Additional Core Responsibilities

In addition, this role involves:

  • Completing more complex mechanical, electrical, and construction activities.
  • Developing and reviewing estimates, systems analysis, and value engineering suggestions.
  • Coordinating scopes of work during bidding and developing sequencing and scheduling inputs.
  • Reviewing design documents and developing quality control programs.
  • Leading and supporting quality inspections and functional testing.
  • Creating and verifying commissioning plans and documentation.
  • Mentoring less experienced colleagues and innovating processes.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to perform work accurately and timely.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and understanding plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Basic knowledge of construction management and ability to collaborate well within teams.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering or related field (Required), or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years construction and/or engineering experience (Preferred).
Working Environment & Benefits
  • Valid driver's license required.
