Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; relevant experience considered.
  • 5+ years construction or engineering experience preferred.

  • Participates in safety and quality plans, demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment.
  • Completes entry-level mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities.
  • Assists in developing budgetary M/E estimates and reviewing options.

JE Dunn's Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into one high-performing team focused on cutting-edge work for innovative clients on large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. As part of the team, you'll work on some of the most advanced construction projects nationwide, growing your career alongside our diverse team of industry professionals.


Key Role Responsibilities - Core
  • Learns and actively participates in all aspects of the company's safety and quality plans and culture, demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment.
  • Completes entry-level and routine mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities.
  • Learns to develop budgetary M/E estimates based on program and schematic design information using automated systems.
  • Assists in reviewing mechanical and electrical options during preconstruction and completes systems analysis for select projects.
  • Learns to develop mechanical and electrical scopes of work for the bid process.
  • Assists in bid analysis and subcontractor selection.
  • Assists in developing system sequencing requirements and provides solutions to meet schedule requirements.
  • Gains knowledge of design documents to identify potential quality issues and assist in constructability reviews.
  • Learns to perform job inspections to ensure specifications and expectations are met.
  • Supports the shop drawing/submittal process to ensure compliance with contract documents.
  • Assists with commissioning, including developing pre-functional checklists and testing procedures.
  • Promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion, understanding JE Dunn's non-discrimination policy.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Performs increasingly complex mechanical, electrical, and field activities.
  • Develops and reviews estimates, recommends systems, and provides value engineering suggestions.
  • Coordinates scopes of work during bidding and develops sequencing and scheduling inputs.
  • Reviews design documents for quality issues and helps develop quality control programs.
  • Develops and verifies functional testing procedures and documentation.
  • Mentors less experienced team members and creates innovative tools and solutions.
  • Supports diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to perform work accurately and timely.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to read plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Knowledge of construction management methods.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within teams.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering or related field required; relevant experience considered.
  • 5+ years construction or engineering experience preferred.
Working Environment
  • Valid driver’s license required.
