Job summary

GBA is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in Lenexa, KS to lead electrical design for mission critical facilities. You will influence design decisions, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and mentor engineers to deliver reliable power systems from concept through construction.

You'll work on critical infrastructure including switchboards, UPS, generators, ATSs, and associated distribution, ensuring safety, compliance, and long-term performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering.
• 8+ years of related electrical engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide project leadership for electrical design teams on new construction and renovation projects.
• Design electrical power systems including switchboards, generators, ATSs, UPS systems, and critical infrastructure.
• Develop medium- and low-voltage power generation and distribution systems.
• Perform electrical load calculations and support arc flash, coordination, and short-circuit studies.
• Conduct facility evaluations, assessments, engineering studies, and troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with clients, owners, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Collaborate across architectural and engineering disciplines for integrated solutions.
• Provide project QA/QC and technical review of electrical deliverables.
• Provide technical direction, oversight, and mentorship to developing engineers and designers.
• Support projects through design and construction meeting client expectations and codes.
