Job summary

kW Mission Critical Engineering, a WSP company, seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Herndon, VA office. You will design complex power and building systems including generator plants, medium voltage, UPS, lighting, fire alarm, and grounding for mission critical facilities.

You will lead electrical design on complex projects, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate with clients, architects, and vendors to develop drawings and specifications for construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with electrical building systems emphasis.
• 5+ years of experience in designing electrical systems for high performing commercial, industrial or mission critical/data center buildings.
• Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills (written and verbal).
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, eTap or Cyme.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for buildings including lighting, receptacle, general, essential, and critical infrastructure.
• Lead or work in teams to plan and execute engineering tasks across projects.
• Lead the electrical design of complex projects and coordinate with internal teams and external vendors.
• Prepare and review drawings and specifications for issuance to architects, contractors and owners.
• Attend client meetings and contribute to discussions; mentor junior engineers.
• Integrate complex electrical requirements into facility designs and ensure conformance with codes.
