Job summary

Strategic Mission Critical is seeking a Senior Level Electrical Engineer in the Fargo, ND area to oversee large-scale data center construction projects across the Dakotas. You will coordinate with trade partners, address RFIs, review submittals and shop drawings, and work with design teams remotely on drawing updates.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives under pressure, communicates clearly, and can mentor other engineers while ensuring project milestones are met.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of experience in facility electrical design, construction, and/or commissioning.
• PE license preferred; unlicensed candidates with appropriate on-the-job experience are welcome to apply.
• Experience performing and reviewing power studies such as Neher-McGrath, short circuit, coordination, and arc flash is strongly preferred.
• Experience leading small electrical teams and having client interface experience is preferred.
• Experience using construction management tools such as Procore and Autodesk Construction Cloud is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of controls and monitoring systems for mechanical and electrical systems is a plus.
• Experience using Autodesk Revit for drawing development is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the successful execution of SMC’s design work on-site, coordinating with contractors, clients, and design partners.
• Coordinate with internal and external disciplines for RFI resolution, submittal, and shop drawing review.
• Spot check contractor redline drawings, breaker, and equipment settings for accuracy and completeness.
• Mentor and train engineers, designers and modelers to develop electrical field knowledge base.
• Meet project deadlines, including working necessary hours to complete major deliverables.
