Job summary

kW Mission Critical Engineering, a WSP company, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for the Troy, NY office. You will design complex power and building systems including generator plants, medium voltage distribution, UPS, lighting, fire alarm and grounding.

Work in teams or independently on multi-discipline projects, lead electrical design, mentor junior engineers, attend client meetings, coordinate with vendors, and translate complex concepts for clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering with electrical building systems emphasis.
• 5+ years of experience in designing electrical systems for the high performing, commercial, industrial or mission critical/data center buildings.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, teamwork, and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficiency with applicable software packages including AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, eTap or Cyme.
• Knowledge of building, electrical and energy codes.
• Ability to travel to project sites

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for buildings including lighting, receptacle, general, essential, and critical electrical infrastructure.
• Lead electrical design of complex projects
• Attend client meetings and contribute to discussions
• Collaborate with internal project discipline team members, equipment vendors, and manufacturers
• Lead and mentor entry-level and junior engineers
• Communicate complex electrical engineering concepts and decisions to clients and stakeholders
