Job summary

kW Mission Critical Engineering, a WSP company, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for the Troy, NY office. You will design complex power and building systems, including generator plants, medium voltage distribution, UPS, lighting, fire alarm and grounding.

Join a team delivering mission critical projects, leading electrical design, coordinating with vendors and clients, and mentoring junior staff. Strong Revit/BIM skills and US travel readiness required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with electrical building systems emphasis.
• 5+ years of experience in designing electrical systems for high-performing, commercial, industrial or mission critical/data center buildings.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, teamwork, and communication, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, eTap or Cyme.
• Knowledge of building, electrical and energy codes.
• Ability to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for buildings including lighting, receptacle, general, essential, and critical electrical infrastructure.
• Plan and execute engineering tasks within projects, in teams or independently.
• Lead the electrical design of complex projects and coordinate with architects, contractors and owners.
• Attend client meetings and mentor entry-level and junior engineers.
• Prepare short circuit, coordination and arc flash calculations and participate in construction administration.
