Job summary

Capstone Copper is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for the Pinto Valley Mine near Globe, AZ. You will head electrical reliability, process control and maintenance engineering activities to ensure safe, efficient operations.

You will collaborate with maintenance, operations and IT to optimize maintenance strategies, power studies and control systems, while maintaining up-to-date safety procedures. A Bachelor's degree and 5 years of mining electrical experience are required; fluency in

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 5 years in electrical engineering or maintenance in a mining facility.
• Knowledge of electrical safety protocols for personnel at mining sites.
• Mining site electrical experience is highly valued.
• Strong understanding of power and control systems, PLCs, databases, and safety standards.
• Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, ISA, and IEC electrical codes.
• Experience conducting HV and power system studies.
• Proficiency with SCADA and HMI design.
• Hands-on mining equipment experience (crushers, conveyors, mills, pumps, etc.).
• Fluent in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the site electrical engineering function including reliability, control, and condition monitoring at Pinto Valley Mine.
• Lead field equipment troubleshooting and safety protocol updates.
• Collaborate with maintenance, operations, assets and engineering to optimize maintenance strategies and procedures.
• Follow MSHA and site safety policies and promote proactive risk reduction.
• Develop and implement electrical maintenance strategies and lead root-cause analyses.
• Lead process control teams to optimize control strategies and documentation.
• Ensure electrical maintenance compliance and insurance/regulatory readiness.
• Develop and implement condition monitoring programs (thermography, oil analysis, harmonic monitoring).
• Represent the electrical discipline in engineering reviews and coordinate with IT and other teams.
• Take on additional tasks as assigned.
