Job summary
Capstone Copper’s Pinto Valley operation seeks a Senior Process Control Engineer to design, implement, and optimize process control systems across concentrator operations. You will lead automation strategies and collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Control Room teams to ensure safe, reliable plant performance.
The role focuses on developing advanced control solutions, validating system integrity, and driving initiatives from conceptual design through startup and operation
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum eight (8) years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting industrial control systems within mining or heavy industrial operations.
- Experience with concentrator processes, including crushing, milling, flotation, and filtration operations.
- Strong knowledge of Allen‑Bradley PLC platforms, GE control systems, Wonderware, and Wonderware Historian.
- Experience programming and supporting PLC, HMI, SCADA, and industrial control systems; strong networking and cybersecurity fundamentals.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, modify, and maintain PLC, HMI, and SCADA applications supporting concentrator operations.
- Develop control strategies for crushing, milling, flotation, and filtration operations to improve reliability and production.
- Develop and enforce engineering documentation, standards, and guidelines for control systems.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to Control Room Technicians and plant personnel.
- Troubleshoot process control, automation, and network issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
