Job summary
Stantec is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design for mining and heavy industry projects in North America. You will oversee multi-disciplinary teams and ensure code-compliant, cost-effective solutions.
Located in the US with opportunities in Phoenix, AZ and Salt Lake City, UT, the role offers hybrid/onsite work and travel up to 10%.
Professional Engineer license and 15 years of experience required; strong NEC knowledge and mentoring responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and PE license required.
- 15 years of engineering, design, and construction experience in heavy industry or mining preferred.
- Strong knowledge of NEC and energy codes.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical design and engineering across all project phases from planning to post-construction.
- Prepare electrical drawings (SLDs, power/lighting plans, grounding, wiring diagrams) and specs.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and external consultants, owners, and vendors.
- Estimate construction costs and assist with bids and proposals.
- Develop project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule.
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
