Confidential Employer in Pittsburgh seeks an electrical engineer to lead complex building systems from design through construction. You will mentor junior engineers while remaining hands-on with technical design across power distribution, lighting, controls, and fire alarm systems.

The role requires coordinating with architects, owners, utilities, and multidisciplinary teams, with travel to project sites. On-site office environment with strong growth potential and licensing support.

Qualifications

  • BSEE or BAE from ABET-accredited school.
  • 3+ years of directly relevant electrical engineering experience.
  • Experience in consulting engineering/A/E firm or similar environment.
  • Experience designing building electrical systems (power, lighting, controls, fire alarm).
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organization and time-management skills in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Ability to coordinate projects across multiple disciplines and stakeholders.
  • Leadership mindset with mentoring junior staff.
  • PE registration preferred but not required.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsabilités

  • Lead electrical projects from schematic design through construction documents and construction completion.
  • Direct the design of power distribution, lighting, controls, fire alarm, low-voltage, and specialty electrical systems.
  • Oversee electrical load calculations, lighting calculations, and related engineering analysis.
  • Lead engineers and designers with mentoring and day-to-day project guidance.
  • Create and review construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Perform field surveys and existing-condition assessments with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Perform power system studies using SKM PowerTools.
  • Prepare project specifications using SpecLink or similar software.
  • Perform engineering studies and prepare technical reports.
  • Conduct QA/QC reviews to maintain design quality.
  • Coordinate with architects, owners, utilities, internal/external stakeholders.
  • Assist leadership with proposals, cost estimates, scheduling, and resource planning.
  • Travel to project sites as needed.

Location:

Pittsburgh, PA. This is an on-site opportunity designed for someone who enjoys working closely with engineering and design teams in a collaborative office environment. Free parking is provided, with travel to project sites required as needed.

Note:

Candidates should have 3+ years of directly relevant electrical engineering experience, preferably within a consulting engineering, architecture/engineering, MEP, or similar construction-focused environment. A BSEE or BAE from an ABET-accredited institution is required. Professional Engineer registration is preferred but not required.

Job Description

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of directly relevant electrical engineering experience.
  • Experience in consulting engineering, an A/E firm, MEP engineering, or a similar construction-related environment strongly preferred.
  • Experience designing building electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, controls, and fire alarm systems.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Ability to coordinate projects across multiple disciplines and stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organization and time-management skills in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Leadership mindset with an interest in mentoring junior staff.
  • Professional Engineer registration preferred but not required.
  • Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
