Job summary

Merz Aesthetics in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead design, development, and analysis of electronic hardware and embedded firmware for new and existing products. You will work hands-on in the lab and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to meet technical requirements and cost targets.

Responsibilities include creating system requirements, translating them into robust architectures, performing verification, and ensuring IEC 60601 and EMC compliance.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field with 5+ years in medical device engineering.
• Experience with IEC 60601, EMC, and quality systems.
• Proven ability to lead hardware and firmware development.
• Strong lab and debugging capabilities in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead system, sub-assembly and board-level requirements development and verification.
• Execute verification and validation activities to ensure design compliance.
• Collaborate with internal hardware/software teams and external partners to meet schedules and cost targets.
• Develop firmware for hardware functionality and FPGA designs, including Verilog/VHDL.
• Ensure medical device safety requirements and design controls are followed.
