Job summary

Merit Medical Systems, Inc. is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer (or Senior Electrical Engineer) to lead дизайne, development, and lifecycle management of our advanced medical device portfolio. The role spans architecture through post-market support with emphasis on hardware/software integration.

The candidate will drive cross-disciplinary collaboration with software, mechanical, QA, regulatory, and manufacturing teams, ensuring design controls and regulatory compliance for medical devices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or technical field with 15 years related experience, or Master’s with 9 years, or PhD with 7 years (Merit preferred)
• 3+ years of dedicated experience in the medical device industry
• Primary designer for product lines with significant revenue/IP (multiple patents)
• Analytical skills and advanced engineering principles for solving problems and developing new products

Responsibilities

• Design complex mixed-signal, multi-layer PCBs (analog, high-speed digital, RF, power) using Altium or similar
• Develop robust firmware/software for embedded microcontrollers
• Lead cross-functional teams across software, hardware, QA, regulatory
• Own design controls, risk management, and IEC 60601-1/60601-1-2 compliance
• Review patents, generate IP, and create prototypes/ECNs
