Job summary

BD is seeking an Electrical Engineer 3 to design, develop, and test electrical systems and components for our medical device products, from concept through production, ensuring compliance with IEC 60601, ISO 13485, and internal quality processes.

You will perform schematic capture, PCB layout, testing, and debugging, collaborate with mechanical, software, and QA teams, and contribute to design reviews while maintaining thorough documentation and supporting manufacturing transfer activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is required.
• 7–10 years of electrical design and development experience.
• Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Altium, OrCAD, Eagle).
• Strong analog/digital circuit design, power electronics, and embedded systems knowledge.
• Experience with microcontrollers, FPGAs, and multiple comms protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, USB).
• Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems with standard lab equipment.
• Familiarity with IEC 60601 and ISO 13485 is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test electrical circuits and systems for medical devices, including embedded systems, power management, sensor interfaces, and communication protocols.
• Perform schematic capture, PCB layout design, and component selection for manufacturability and cost.
• Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of electrical designs.
• Develop and execute test plans, analyze test data, and generate reports.
• Collaborate with mechanical, software, and QA teams for seamless integration.
• Participate in design reviews with constructive feedback and technical depth.
• Ensure designs comply with IEC 60601, ISO 13485, and internal quality systems.
• Support manufacturing transfer activities, including prototype builds and production test fixtures.
• Maintain thorough documentation of designs, analyses, and test results.
• Stay updated on emerging electrical engineering technologies in medical devices.
