Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer

Location: New Jersey (Onsite)

Job Summary

The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead the design, development, and validation of electrical and electronic systems for regulated medical devices. This role requires deep technical expertise combined with a strong understanding of medical device regulations, quality systems, and product lifecycle development. The engineer will work cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Manufacturing teams to deliver safe, compliant, and reliable products.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead electrical system design and architecture for medical devices, from concept through commercialization
• Develop and review schematics, PCB designs, wiring diagrams, and electrical specifications
• Ensure designs comply with medical device standards (IEC 60601, ISO 14971, IEC 62304 as applicable)
• Perform and document risk management activities, including hazard analysis and FMEA
• Support verification and validation (V&V) testing and design reviews
• Collaborate with Quality and Regulatory teams to ensure compliance with FDA, ISO 13485, and design control requirements
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers
• Support manufacturing transfer, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Participate in audits, inspections, and regulatory submissions as needed

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Experience in electrical engineering, preferably within the medical device industry
• Strong experience with analog and digital circuit design
• Hands-on experience with PCB design and layout tools (Altium, OrCAD, or similar)
• Solid understanding of design controls and product development lifecycle in a regulated environment
• Experience with electrical safety and EMC testing
