Job summary

Lumicity is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our medical device engineering team, driving design, development, and validation of electronic systems from concept through commercialization.

You will design analog/digital circuits, develop schematics and PCB layouts, and support safety and regulatory activities. Collaboration with firmware/software teams and cross-functional groups will be essential for successful design implementation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of electrical engineering experience, ideally within medical devices or another regulated industry.
• Strong foundation in analog/digital circuit design, PCB design, and embedded systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, simulate, and validate analog and digital circuits for medical device applications.

• Collaborate with firmware/software teams to define hardware-software interfaces.
• Support EMC/EMI testing and electrical safety testing (IEC 60601-1).

Job description

We're seeking an Electrical Engineer to join a growing engineering team supporting the design, development, and validation of electronic systems for a medical device platform. This role will work cross-functionally with Mechanical Engineering, Software, Quality, and Regulatory Affairs to bring safe, reliable, and compliant products from concept through commercialization.

What You'll Do

• Design, simulate, and validate analog and digital circuits for medical device applications, including power management, sensor interfaces, and signal processing
• Develop schematics, PCB layouts, and supporting documentation in accordance with design control procedures
• Support system-level architecture decisions, balancing performance, safety, manufacturability, and cost
• Conduct bench-level testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of prototypes and production units
• Collaborate with firmware/software teams to define hardware-software interfaces
• Support EMC/EMI testing, electrical safety testing (IEC 60601-1), and other compliance activities
• Author and execute verification and validation protocols for electrical subsystems
• Participate in risk management activities (ISO 14971), including FMEA development
• Support design transfer to manufacturing, working with Operations and Supply Chain on DFM/DFT considerations
• Maintain design history file (DHF) documentation and support regulatory submissions as needed

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field
• 3+ years of electrical engineering experience, ideally within medical devices or another regulated industry
• Strong foundation in analog/digital circuit design, PCB design, and embedded systems
• Familiarity with IEC 60601-1, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, and FDA 21 CFR 820 design control requirements
• Experience with schematic capture and PCB design tools
• Hands-on lab experience with standard test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies)
• Working knowledge of EMC/EMI principles and pre-compliance testing
• Strong problem-solving skills and comfort operating in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with battery-powered or wireless medical devices
• Familiarity with firmware/embedded C for hardware bring-up and debug
• Experience supporting FDA submissions
• Exposure to DFMEA, DVP&R, and formal design verification/validation processes
