Job summary

Nordson Corporation is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead sustaining and complex electrical/electromechanical projects in a regulated medical device environment. You will own system-level electrical performance across manufacturing, test, field issues, and product changes while mentoring engineers and technicians.

This role balances strategic project work with hands-on troubleshooting, ensuring safe, compliant operation and driving continuous improvement in line with FDA QSR and ISO

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• 8–10 years in electrical/electromechanical engineering within a manufacturing or regulated environment.
• Medical device experience strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to independently lead projects while supporting active production lines.
• Experience with ECOs, design updates, and manufacturing support.

Responsibilities

• Own electrical and electromechanical systems, including PCBA, sensors, test systems.
• Lead cross-functional projects, define scope, schedules, risks, and deliverables.
• Provide production support for electrical failures and test issues.
• Troubleshoot down to component level using schematics, BOMs, and test data.
• Support root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Lead validation/qualification activities (IQ/OQ/PQ/PPQ) for test equipment and changes.
• Develop and approve electrical test methods and LabVIEW-based tests.
• Interface with suppliers to investigate failures and improve designs.
• Mentor Engineers I/II and technicians.
• Participate in design reviews for NPI and sustaining products.
• Ensure FDA QSR, ISO 13485, ISO 14971 compliance.
