Job summary

Ramboll in the Americas is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design for industrial projects in the Charlotte, NC and New York locations. You will direct power distribution, grounding, lighting, and fire alarm systems, mentoring a design team and interfacing with clients during proposals and project delivery.

You will bring a BSEE, PE license, and 8+ years of experience in consulting engineering, plus at least 2 years of team leadership.

Qualifications

• BSEE, engaged in lifelong learning to maintain knowledge of contemporary issues.
• 8+ years relevant work experience
• PE license required
• 2+ years experience leading a team of design professionals in a consulting engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Design for electrical power distribution (medium/low voltage) systems, grounding, lighting, fire alarm, and communications for the industrial market.
• Demonstrate understanding of codes/standards (NFPA, NESC, ANSI/IEEE) and develop code analysis reports.
• Lead a team of electrical designers and engineers; coordinate final design deliverables.
• Mentor and develop the technical skills of others.
• Act as client interface and lead other disciplines; act as project manager on small to mid-size projects.
• Interact with client during proposals, prepare proposals and fee estimates, present to clients, and represent Ramboll during the project.
• Provide construction support including cost estimating, phasing, site inspections, punch lists, and shop drawing reviews.
• Prepare technical reports to define projects and provide direction.
