Job summary

SolomonEdwards seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical projects, work with PMs and multidisciplinary teams, and mentor junior staff. You will ensure designs meet codes, standards, and client requirements across all project Phases.

Responsibilities include leading feasibility, scope development, detailed design, and construction support; coordinating with code officials; and managing budgets and schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college.
• 10–12 years of electrical engineering and building systems design experience.
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards and practices.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Experience with SKM, EasyPower, AmpCalc or similar.
• Experience leading engineering teams (≥4 years).
• PE license (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead projects through feasibility, design, and construction documentation phases.
• Define scope, schedules, budgets, staffing, and deliverables with PMs.
• Develop detailed scopes of work from client meetings and assessments.
• Prepare electrical studies, calculations, and schematics for new systems.
• Evaluate existing systems and recommend improvements.
• Coordinate with code officials and regulatory agencies for compliance.
• Lead, assign, and mentor engineers and designers.
• Monitor progress, review documents, and provide markups.
• Communicate scope changes to clients and manage added services.
• Review contractor payments and provide construction support.
• Coordinate project docs to ensure quality and timeliness.
• Perform electrical calculations: service sizing, short circuit, Neher-McGrath sizing.
• Prepare or review project budgets and cost estimates.
• Support engineering standards and best practices.
