Job summary

AMG, Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer in the Dayton area to lead and mentor a team within the Electrical & Instrumentation Department.

You will design electrical systems for industrial facilities and oversee junior engineers, while coordinating with project managers and designers to deliver robust solutions. You will perform field verification, develop diagrams, and ensure NEC compliance, with opportunities for leadership progression as the department lead approaches

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of electrical design or drafting experience in industrial processing environments.
• Strong knowledge of NEC and medium/low voltage distribution systems.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and REVIT; experience with ETAP/SKM/EasyPower.
• Licensed PE and ability to obtain multi-state licensure.
• Must reside in the greater Dayton area.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems including medium and low voltage power distribution, control systems, transformers, lighting for industrial environments.
• Develop single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, cable schedules, and layout drawings.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure project success.
• Participate in field work and construction support, including site visits and field verification.
• Mentor and provide on-the-job training to junior engineers.
