Job summary

HDR leads the multi-disciplinary team delivering the Base Maintenance Contract (BMC) for the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. The Senior Electrical Engineer will plan, develop, and coordinate electrical systems for mission-critical facilities, manage design packages, and mentor staff, while coordinating with the project team and authorities for code compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
• 10+ years in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license recognized by licensing board.
• Extensive knowledge of building electrical power, lighting and life safety systems.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and electrical design software.
• Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, design, and coordinate a broad range of electrical engineering activities.
• Coordinate the work of Electrical Engineers with a multi-discipline team throughout the project’s development.
• Participate in design and production meetings for electrical systems.
• Lead electrical on multiple projects.
• Coordinate with agencies for code compliance during reviews.
• Prepare in-house design packages for contracts and related documents.
• Mentor junior staff and support project teams.
• Assist in coordinating all phases of engineering, construction, and inspection.
