Job summary

IMEG is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead design efforts for educational and healthcare projects in Inland Empire, CA or Downtown LA. You will manage projects, provide engineering analyses, and oversee electrical systems in buildings, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

The role emphasizes client interaction, mentoring staff, and advancing high-performance, energy-efficient design in line with IMEG standards, while contributing to education-focused work and public-sector

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 7 years minimum, 8 preferred in building design consulting.
• Strong technical knowledge: circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, electronics.
• Knowledge of IES standards and NFPA/FGI resources.
• MasterSpec editing with eSPECS; proficiency in Adobe/Bluebeam Revu.
• Ability to mentor, train, and lead others; strong QA/QC mindset.
• Ability to sell work and develop client relationships; strong teamwork.
• Excellent communication, both written and spoken.
• Proficient with MS Office; able to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Lead design for electrical systems analysis, create detailed designs and calculations to IMEG standards.
• Perform site assessments and generate technical reports.
• Collaborate with clients to gather requirements and build relationships.
• Review designs, specifications, and project communications; apply QA/QC processes.
• Mentor, train, and motivate staff.
• Provide technical assistance to resolve field issues with limited senior support.
• Stay current with industry trends and contribute to R&D and innovation.
• Prioritize safety and mitigate electrical safety risks.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Participate in project interviews and presentations.
