Job summary

Thomas Young Group in Austin seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design efforts for healthcare and mission-critical projects. You will guide the design team, perform studies and load calculations, and ensure drawings meet quality standards.

Ideal candidates bring a PE license, ABET-degree, and 4+ years of design experience, with Revit proficiency and strong MS Office skills. This on-site role offers collaboration with architects and authorities and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
• 4+ years of relevant design and analysis experience.
• Proficiency in Revit.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Solid understanding of engineering principles, codes, and design methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement electrical design concepts with EOR oversight.
• Perform load calculations, studies, and equipment selection using standard software.
• Review and oversee design drawings for accuracy and completeness.
• Mentor junior designers and EITs.
• Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and authorities.
• Attend client and design meetings; conduct site visits during construction.
• Manage discipline-specific budgets, schedules, and work plans.
• Review submittals, respond to RFIs, and support QA/QC processes.
• Maintain project documentation and clear communication; stay current on codes.
