Job summary

ASR Group is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in Baltimore to serve as the site technical authority for electrical infrastructure across substations, transformers, MCCs and power distribution assets. You will drive a multi-year roadmap, lifecycle planning, and spare-parts strategy while coordinating with Corporate Engineering and contractors.

The role requires 10+ years in industrial electrical engineering, experience with capital projects, and strong knowledge of NEC/NFPA/OSHA standards.

Qualifications

Strong knowledge of industrial medium- and low-voltage electrical distribution systems.
Technical knowledge of substations, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, motors, generators, VFDs, and protective relaying.
Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, OSHA, electrical safety requirements.
Ability to interpret and review one-line diagrams, electrical studies, equipment specifications, drawings, and engineering packages.
Ability to evaluate complex technical issues and develop practical, long-term solutions.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with Operations, Maintenance, Corporate Engineering, vendors, consultants and leadership.

Responsibilities

Serve as the site technical authority for electrical systems and guide Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations.
Develop and maintain a multi-year electrical infrastructure roadmap including substations, transformers, and distribution equipment.
Create asset lifecycle and replacement strategies; identify obsolescence and capacity risks.
Develop and maintain a critical electrical spare parts strategy for long lead-time components.
Perform or oversee electrical studies including load flow, short circuit, protective coordination, arc flash, harmonics, and power quality assessments.
Provide technical specifications for transformers, switchgear, relays, MCCs, VFDs, motors and generators.
Represent site electrical engineering on capital projects and infrastructure modernization initiatives.
Review supplier and contractor deliverables for alignment with site standards and long-term plans.
Participate in FAT, SAT, commissioning, startup and handover activities as required.
Maintain electrical engineering standards, diagrams, arc-flash documentation, and related design practices.
