Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with experience in power generation, utility systems, high-voltage substations, or large industrial electrical projects to develop behind-the-meter facilities connecting generation assets to large-scale loads.

This hands-on role focuses on electrical designs, equipment selection, interconnections, and early-stage engineering activities, with onsite work in Downtown Houston, TX and a contract-to-hire path.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Experience with utility infrastructure, transmission systems, high-voltage substations, large industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of high-voltage systems (138kV+).
• Ability to perform short-circuit, load flow, grounding, arc flash analyses.
• Team collaboration with utilities, OEMs, and EPCs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain electrical single-line diagrams.
• Design power systems with generators, transformers, switchgear, substations, and interconnections.
• Support HV systems from 138kV to 345kV+.
• Perform and review electrical studies (short-circuit, load flow, grounding, arc flash, equipment duty).
• Develop equipment specifications and technical requirements for major infrastructure.
• Coordinate with utilities, OEMs, EPC contractors, and partners.
