Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead high power electrical designs for the SPARC pulsed power system. You will develop requirements, test plans, and oversee installation, commissioning, and handover, coordinating across R&D, physics, manufacturing, and software teams.

Strong leadership and MV/LV power systems expertise are essential. Applicants should have 8+ years in power electronics with a Bachelor's (Master's preferred).

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related experience with power electronics based systems.
• Ability to lead a technical team from conception to implementation.
• Proven track record in design and implementation of power systems.
• Experience with MV & LV systems, AC/DC distribution, power conversion.
• Modeling, simulation, and validation through testing.
• Strong communication and design review skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead high power electrical designs for SPARC pulsed power system.
• Develop technical requirements for vendor equipment based on analyses.
• Develop tests and test plans for new designs.
• Lead installation, testing, and operations handover.
• Release work packages: equipment lists, drawings, schematics.
• Apply electrical safety practices and compliance standards.
• Interface with cross-functional teams to meet requirements.
• Support procurement contracts and vendor coordination.
