Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead high‑power electrical designs for the SPARC pulsed power system. You will interface with R&D, physics, manufacturing, and software teams to ensure robust, compliant designs and successful handovers.

The role requires 8+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's or 6+ years with a Master’s in power electronics, plus proven leadership in fast-paced projects and hands-on risk management.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related experience with Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s degree with 6+ years in power electronics.
• Proven track record leading complex electrical design projects.
• Experience interfacing with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex high power electrical designs for SPARC’s pulsed power system.
• Develop test methods and test plans to qualify electrical designs.
• Lead installation, test, and operations handover for electrical designs.
• Oversee electrical work package releases (equipment lists, drawings, schematics).
• Apply electrical safety practices and compliance standards in design and implementation.
