Job summary

EV.Careers is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for a direct-hire role with a heavy-duty vehicle manufacturer in the southeastern United States. You will own electrical design end-to-end—from functional diagrams and schematics to harness design and prototype builds on the factory floor.

The successful candidate will bring at least 10 years of hands-on experience across development stages, manufacturing support, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (no substitutions).
• Minimum 10 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Hands-on electrical design across diagrams, schematics, and harnesses.
• Experience supporting a manufacturing environment and building prototypes.
• Willing to travel domestically and internationally.
• Able to work on site full time in the southeastern United States.
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical and controls systems for heavy-duty vehicles and trailers.
• Own end-to-end design: functional diagram, schematic, harness, release, prototype.
• Solve build-floor issues and feedback learnings into design.
• Own electrical standards and best practices; drive continuous improvements.
• Create scope, schedules, and task lists for electrical development projects.
• Coordinate with suppliers and external design resources for prototyping.
• Partner with prototype department for tooling and inventory for harness assembly.
• Handle engineering work for custom customer orders across the vehicle.
