Role Description

We seek an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the Places Design & Engineering group, specializing in facility design for U.S. Federal Agencies. The role involves leading electrical discipline efforts across multiple projects through all phases from pursuit to construction, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead design teams and mentor junior staff to develop construction-ready drawings and specifications.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, building codes, safety standards (NFPA, NEC, NESC, NETA, ANSI, IEEE, UL, UBC), and international standards (IEC, CE, EN), with particular emphasis on federal standards (UFC, UFGS).
• Develop budgets, proposals, project schedules, and staffing plans. Build relationships with U.S. Federal Agencies to identify new project opportunities.
• Utilize design and modeling software such as Revit, BIM, AutoCAD, Elum Tools, SKM, Etap, EDSA, Easy Power, and SpecsIntact.
• Conduct site visits for surveys, data collection, system audits, and client collaboration.
• Design facilities including industrial, commercial, water/wastewater, EV charging, transportation, and data centers.

Qualifications & Experience

• U.S. citizenship required.
• B.S. in Electrical Engineering with 10-15 years of consulting and facility design experience.
• Extensive experience producing IFC design packages for federal facilities.
• Professional Engineering licensure in the U.S., with multiple state licenses preferred.
• Strong communication skills for presentations, documentation, and client interactions.
• Ability to foster positive relationships to develop additional project opportunities.
