Job summary

Raytheon is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for the Undersea & Electronics Systems (UES) Department in Portsmouth, RI. This on-site role focuses on hardware design, development, and integration for missile launcher systems.

You will work with cross-disciplinary teams, review designs, and support production with a security-clearance-controlled environment. Expect about 10–20% travel and a dynamic, mission-driven work culture at RTX.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) is required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to obtain/maintain DoD security clearance (U.S. citizens).
• Experience leading small development efforts and teams with cost/schedule responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Work hands-on with hardware to support prototyping and production.
• Collaborate across disciplines (mechanical/software) to solve technical challenges.
• Support the factory and suppliers with product integration.
• Participate in design peer reviews and trade studies for decisions.
• Operate with limited supervision to meet schedule and technical goals.
• Understand FPGA code and system-level software to troubleshoot field issues.
• Travel internationally ~10–20% to customer sites or suppliers.
