Job summary

EV.Careers is seeking a direct hire Senior Electrical Engineer for a partner, a manufacturer of heavy-duty specialty vehicles across diesel, gas, and battery electric platforms. You will own electrical design end to end, from functional diagrams and schematics to harness design and prototype verification.

On site in the southeastern United States, you will touch every part of the vehicle and lead standards, coordinating with suppliers and external design resources to deliver robust systems on

Qualifications

• Hands-on electrical design experience across full range of development
• Experience supporting a manufacturing environment and building prototypes
• Comfortable working on a production floor with PPE and lifting up to 50 lbs
• Willing to travel domestically and internationally
• Able to work on site full time in the southeastern United States
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical and controls systems for heavy-duty vehicles and trailers
• Lead designs end to end: functional diagrams, schematics, harness design, release, prototype build
• Solve build-floor problems and feed learnings back into design
• Own electrical standards and improve processes as products evolve
• Create scopes, schedules, and task lists for electrical/controls development
• Coordinate with suppliers on component procurement for prototype and production
• Work with prototype department on tooling and inventory for harness assembly
• Handle engineering work for custom customer orders
• Collaborate cross-functionally across the whole vehicle
