Job summary

Badger Meter is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in Milwaukee to drive hardware design for smart water technology. You will lead PCB & circuit design, mentor engineers, and balance hands-on work with technical leadership to bring innovative products to market.

You will collaborate across disciplines to ensure reliability, manufacturability, and regulatory compliance, shaping the future of water technology worldwide.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing electronic products with emphasis on hardware and PCB design.
• Deep understanding of the complete product development lifecycle from concept to launch.
• Strong expertise in analog and digital circuit design, schematic capture, PCB layout, and system integration.
• Experience with embedded systems using microcontrollers/microprocessors (ARM, 8/16/32-bit).

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical hardware design and development of new products and enhancements; act as technical lead for PCB and circuit design.
• Architect, design, and validate analog/digital circuits for embedded products and sensing tech.
• Drive product development from concept to production while meeting performance, reliability, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop design verification, validation, and compliance testing (UL/CSA/CE/EMC/FM).
• Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and test engineers to integrate systems.
• Define production test methodologies and support fixtures and tools.
• Lead technical problem solving and root cause analysis.
• Provide sustaining engineering support and product improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to project planning, risk assessments, schedules, and design reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster engineering excellence across the team.
