Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in electric distribution engineering.
• Experience with IOUs, public utilities, or cooperatives and utility consulting.
• Strong understanding of distribution operations and standards.
• Proven ability to lead engineering tasks and collaborate across disciplines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of overhead and underground distribution systems (4 kV to 35 kV).
• Develop design packages for new distribution lines and system upgrades.
• Prepare construction drawings, material lists, staking sheets, and specs.
• Perform voltage drop, short-circuit, load, and feeder balancing analyses.
• Coordinate designs with transmission, substation, protection, and civil teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide QA/QC reviews.
• Support project managers with scope, cost estimates, and schedules.
