Job summary

Hanson Professional Services, Inc. seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer specializing in Distribution System Design. This senior role requires a PE license and hands‑on experience with overhead and underground systems, upgrades, and reliability projects.

You will lead design efforts, mentor junior staff, and coordinate with utilities and cross‑functional teams across T&D projects. Travel and field support may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in electric distribution engineering.
• Experience with IOUs, public utilities, or engineering consultants.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of overhead and underground distribution systems (4 kV–35 kV).
• Prepare construction drawings, material lists, staking sheets, specs.
• Perform voltage drop, short‑circuit, load analyses, feeder balancing.
• Coordinate with transmission, substations, protection, and civil teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and support project management and QA/QC.
