Job summary

Sun Recruiting, Inc. in Syracuse, NY seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer for digital hardware and FPGA work in a DoD sensing technology environment. You will design high-speed digital systems, implement FPGA solutions, and support cross-functional teams throughout product development.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical/Computer Engineering and 5+ years of digital hardware experience, with hands-on lab skills and U.S. citizenship for security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of digital hardware design experience.
• Experience with FPGAs, microcontrollers, memory, and high-speed interfaces.
• Hands-on lab equipment experience (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers).
• Experience with VHDL and/or Verilog.
• U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of advanced digital hardware for next-generation products.
• Design multi-layer PCBs, develop schematics, and support board layout activities.
• Architect and develop FPGA solutions using VHDL and/or Verilog on modern Xilinx platforms.
• Perform hardware integration, testing, validation, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Design high-speed digital interfaces, data acquisition systems, DSP, and communication architectures.
• Develop Python and Bash scripts to automate engineering workflows and improve efficiency.
