Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a skilled Electrical Power Systems Engineer to own LV design standards for AI data center infrastructure in the SF Bay Area. You will lead design from transformer secondary through switchgear, UPS, busway, and rack-level delivery, and develop 480V/415V architectures for GPU clusters.

You will define equipment requirements, perform load-flow and power-quality studies, review drawings and specs, coordinate across disciplines, and support testing and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience designing low-voltage electrical systems for data centers or mission-critical facilities.
• Ability to develop and review single-line diagrams and equipment specs.
• Familiar with NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, NETA standards.
• Willing to work onsite at SF or San Jose office 4 days/week.
• Professional Engineer licensure preferred or progressing.
• Experience with hyperscale/AI data centers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own electrical design standards and reference architectures for low-voltage systems.
• Lead design from transformer secondary through switchgear, UPS, rack-level power delivery.
• Develop 480V and 415V system architectures for GPU clusters.
• Define requirements for switchgear, UPS, PDUs, grounding, metering.
• Model loads, GPU power behavior, transient demand, harmonics, redundancy.
• Create single-line diagrams, panel schedules, equipment specs.
• Evaluate designs for reliability, efficiency, cost, schedule.
• Perform load-flow, short-circuit, arc-flash, voltage-drop studies.
• Coordinate electrical requirements across facilities and operations.
• Support testing, commissioning, investigations.
• Travel to sites as needed.
