Job summary

Switch seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer, Design Execution, to own and resolve complex electrical issues during construction, commissioning, energization, and startup of mission‑critical data center projects. You will review 30%/60%/90% designs, lead root cause analysis, and apply field lessons to improve future builds while coordinating with multiple teams and vendors.

You will travel to project sites as needed, mentor engineers, and help set practical engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 7–10 years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of MV/LV distribution, switchgear and power system protection.
• Experience reviewing electrical designs, short circuit studies, arc flash, RFIs and submittals.

Responsibilities

• Own complex electrical engineering issues during construction, commissioning, energization and startup.
• Review designs at 30%, 60%, and 90% stages and identify risks.
• Lead root cause analysis for equipment failures and develop remediation plans.
• Apply field lessons to improve designs, standards, and future builds.
• Develop safe, practical engineering solutions for challenging field conditions.
• Make data-based trade-offs balancing safety, reliability, cost, and constructability.
• Support commissioning with loading strategies and testing plans.
• Coordinate with Design Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, Operations, and vendors.
