Job summary

Nortek Data Center Cooling is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the electrical design for air-handling and chilled-water systems. You will own requirements, concept development, prototype builds, and production release, while supporting field issues and cross-functional programs.

The role focuses on high-growth AWS chilled-water and air-handling programs with flexibility for other DCC products. Strong leadership and travel readiness are expected.

Qualifications

• BSEE from ABET-accredited program with strong electrical design background.
• 5+ years in electrical engineering for industrial/ HVAC products; 7+ preferred.
• Experience with 480 V power, motors, VFDs, transformers, control panels.
• Familiarity with NEC, NFPA 79, UL/ETL, UL 508A and related standards.
• Ability to lead, communicate across functions, and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design and development for data center cooling equipment.
• Document system electrical requirements and architectures per specs.
• Design and review 480 V power and control systems and components.
• Perform electrical calculations and ensure safety and standards compliance.
• Own and support E-CAD outputs, BOMs, and manufacturing docs.
• Mentor engineers and support root-cause analysis with cross-functional teams.
