Job summary

Nortek Data Center Cooling seeks a Mechanical Engineer to support Custom Engineered Product Development for Liquid Cooling and Air-Cooled solutions for hyperscale customers. You will apply design principles, manage project workstreams, and deliver cradle‑to‑grave development while aligning with manufacturing capabilities.

Qualifications

• Requires a BSME from an accredited university.
• 3-5 years of engineering work experience, HVAC preferred.
• CFD experience preferred.
• Self-starter and able to work cross‑functionally.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• PE certification is a plus.
• MSME is a plus.
• SolidWorks, DraftSight, AutoCAD, Revit skills.

Responsibilities

• Works with Sales, Marketing, and R&D to develop product requirements based on customer needs.
• Analyses systems using FEA, analytical formulas, benchmark designs, etc.
• Run sizing and optimization exercises for pumps, valves, and flow control devices.
• Familiar with piping layouts, design, and material selection, including PVC, stainless steel, copper, HDPE.
• Uses DFMEA, PFMEA, and DFMA tools to improve quality and reliability of designs.
• Develops Bills of Materials (BOMs) and ensures documentation for commercialization.
• Works with operations to design solutions integrated into manufacturing capabilities.
• Develops advanced designs with operations for high-quality, value-based results.
• Mentors junior mechanical engineers and performs other duties as assigned.
