Job summary

Zohorecruit is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design for air‑cooled data center cooling equipment in Grand Rapids. You will own main and auxiliary control panels, develop production-ready electrical designs, and coordinate across engineering, manufacturing, and field teams.

Ideal candidates have 7–10 years of experience, strong knowledge of electrical schematics and safety standards, and proficiency in AutoCAD/Creo Schematics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is required.
  • 7–10 years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
  • Experience designing electrical control panels and industrial systems.
  • Knowledge of electrical schematics, wiring, load calculations, and control-system integration.
  • Familiarity with UL/CSA electrical and product safety standards (UL 1995, UL 60335, NEC, etc).
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Creo Schematics.
  • Ability to lead projects across multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Own electrical system design activities for air-cooled data center chillers, including control panels.
  • Translate customer and product requirements into production-ready electrical designs.
  • Design electrical panels, wire harnesses, wiring schematics, and load calculations.
  • Select and qualify electrical components (transformers, breakers, sensors, VFDs, etc.).
  • Develop schematics using AutoCAD/Creo Schematics and integrate with broader designs.
  • Lead design projects across engineering teams, balancing safety and manufacturability.
  • Plan and oversee validation testing and root-cause investigations.

How You Will Make An Impact
  • Own electrical system design activities for air-cooled data center chiller equipment, including main and auxiliary control panels.
  • Translate customer and product requirements into production-ready electrical designs.

  • Provide technical leadership to designers, technicians, manufacturing teams, field service, technical support, and order fulfillment.

Requirements
Do You Have the Expertise to Lead in Electrical Product Design and Controls?
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Engineering Physics, or a closely related discipline.
  • 7–10 years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
  • Strong experience designing electrical control panels and industrial equipment electrical systems .
  • Demonstrated knowledge of electrical schematics, wiring, load calculations, component selection, and control-system integration.
  • Working knowledge of applicable electrical and product safety requirements such as UL/CSA 1995, UL 60335, UL 508/508A, NEC, ANSI Z21.47, and ASHRAE 90.1 .
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or Creo Schematics .
  • Ability to lead engineering projects and coordinate effectively across multidisciplinary product teams.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting, analytical, root-cause, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to take designs through validation and ultimately support production release.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to guide designers, technicians, and cross-functional partners.
  • Experience with 2D/3D product design environments is valuable, with Creo experience highly desirable .
  • Interest or experience in data center infrastructure, HVAC equipment, chillers, or other industrial electrical applications is highly valued.
